Who: Amada and Rosalinda (sorry this took so long and I hope this is okay!) When: Afternoon Where: The Stables (near the library) What: You can't always be in a good mood.
No one had it in them to always be friendly. That's what Amada kept telling herself to justify her third strike of rather unpleasant behavior towards someone within the day. First, she not so kindly rejected someone's help with bags she was carrying while walking home from the Market. Just because she was pregnant, it didn't mean she couldn't hold her own. Her second incident happened while at the library. She was looking for baby name books to show Zane and someone asked her the rather obvious "are you having a baby?" question. Amada gave a nasty reply. She regretted it later. But since she was already gone from the facility, she wasn't going to walk all the way back just to apologize.
Her third strike was at the stables near the library. She just needed a place to relax for a few moments. Then an unfortunate soul brought a horse over to Amada who was reading and asked if she wanted to ride one of the horses. With a baby on the way, Amada didn't feel like riding around on a pony. With her luck, she'd fall. So she declined on the offer. But the person promised the ride would be safe and slow. This caused Amada to set her book down and say no again in a rather loud and unpleasant manner.
When the person walked away, Amada let out a frustrated sigh and created a small ball of fire in her hands. Though the orb of fire only lasted for a few seconds, it's warmth was comforting. Alone. Yes, being alone right now was a good idea.

Who: Yanaba and Kelchek When: Afternoon Where: The Herbalist What: Enjoying a day at work
If one were to stand close to Yanaba, they would smell all sorts of scents such as cheery, mint and even a hint of tobacco. Before she had arrived at the Herbalist, she made some of her products at home. She then walked slowly towards the town, greeting all those she had met before. For once she even tried the basics of introducing herself to strangers.
The place was fairly quiet so the therianthrope spent a lot of time straightening a few things up and cleaning. The more she straightened up the place, the more the different scents, both good and bad began to accumulate around the room.
Eventually, convinced that no one would be around for a while, she began to make some tea and waited patiently on a wooden chair. Normally she'd have a bag filled with various books and things do to. But of course on this day she had forgotten to do so.

Who: Rainey and Zach When: Late Afternoon Where: Helicharis What: Tired Rainey accidentally let's out a Hippogriff!
Rainey couldn't bring herself to work at the Sweets Shop on this day. It required her to remain..."herself". What people saw in her was some bubbly young woman willing to help any costumer that came in. But in truth, lately she had been feeling down and was putting on a facade. Maybe it was the weather, or maybe she had some feelings she wasn't expressing. Whatever it was, it was ruining her better mood. She used to drink blood daily and now she was too tired to walk to the Medical Pavilion. But today, yes today she was going to get there.
But Rainey was so spaced she never got there. In the distance she saw a small stable. She found it odd that she never had noticed it before. Curiosity always tended to nag at her so she walked closer to the small stable and set her eyes on something she had never seen before.
With wide eyes she watched a creature that looked like an eagle and horse all in one get up from one of the stable spaces to look her in the eyes. She backed away slowly, slightly scared. The creature spread its wings as if it were a person stretching. ".........oh..my.." Was all the vampire could get out. But after a few minutes of silence all seemed well.
That was until the creature moved forward. Rainey fell back, but not before trying to balance herself using the door that held the creature in. In doing so, she unlatched the handle, releasing the creature who easily slipped out.
"OH PLEASE DON'T TELL ME-OR GROWL AT ME THAT YOU EAT PEOPLE-OR VAMPIRES! OR WHATEVER!"

Who: Chris and Ralph When: Afternoon Where: Mausoleum What: Following the necromancer to his place of work
Though Chris was adamant about not following Mitsuko's wishes she found herself stuck in the house for the past five days simply because she didn't have anything else to do. It was a sad, boring existence for the teenage girl, and it could have put her in a foul mood if she wasn't so cheerful to begin with. Still Chris didn't like staying at home when she didn't need to, and despite the clouds that marred the sky the whether was fairly warm overall. She donned a jacket, and a pair of sneakers before she left the house in a rush.
Chris wasn't going anywhere in particular, but she found herself in the Market Place wandering about from store to store. She grabbed a couple of items - some candy and a cute shirt - before she spotted someone she recognized in the distance. "Ralph!" She ran up to the necromancer, and immediately curled her hand around his arm. "Hi," she said brightly as she looked up at him. She didn't even ask him where he was going (since he was obviously in the middle of going somewhere), and she didn't ask if she could tag along. She just did, and followed him all the way to the mausoleum.
The young girl had never been there before, and her curiosity was immediately piqued when they reached the somewhat somber building. "I didn't know you worked here," she said. "That's so cool!" She was sincere with her words, and this time she began tugging him toward the entrance of the mausoleum. "C'mon," she urged. "I want you to show me everything!"

Who: Loki [Narrative] When: Early Morning Where: The Atlantic Ocean What: Loki and his crew head back home on the heels of the Renegades.
Loki had finished reading the journal a few days ago, and its contents astonished the muse beyond anything he had ever read before. A fleet of terrible ships had descended upon the haven and taken it over for four months, imposing a new order over the people and imprisoning many of them. A man called Bishop led the fray. The journal mentioned some of the things they preached: The decadence of praeternaturals, Loki’s own kind among them, and how they meant to bring down humanity. Loki didn’t want to believe it, but he didn’t have much of a choice. The Bahamas had been razed to the ground, his parents among the murdered, and now was not the time to go denying the most likely truth.
He ordered all of his men back on the ship, and they gathered supplies for a long journey ahead. There was no time to clean up the mess in the Bahamas, only time enough for a short memorial in honor of those killed by the invaders. If they wanted to reach Elysium before Bishop’s fleet of ships, Loki knew they had to leave as quickly as possible. They would be on the heels of Bishop and his army, a thought that Loki had to admit terrified him just a little. The idea of an army bent on the destruction of his kind . . .
No one in Elysium knew of the possible danger ahead, and Loki was the only messenger sent out to discover the truth. He had to reach home before their enemies to warn them. If he was too late, who could guess the havoc that would be wrecked on the only home left to the muse, and he wasn’t going to stand for that happening.
With the wind in their sails and dark clouds rolling in, Loki threw caution aside and set sail for Elysium. Time was of the essence, and he could only hope they made it home on time.

Who: Zach and Benjamin When: Night Where: The Docks What: A boy and his thoughts, plus another boy and his thoughts.
Zach sat on the edge of the docks, his legs swaying over the edge and his feet dangling just over the still waters. He didn’t need a flashlight out here with him tonight given the natural state of the sky. He knew what that meant, too; the bright glow off the surface of the water, which reflected the light of the moon up in the sky. The full moon was coming, and tomorrow it would be here. It felt like the world was caught in a perpetual twilight on this night, waiting for tomorrow to come as if it couldn’t sleep any better than him.
He would have been at Adrienne’s house, only there was no answer when he knocked and he wasn’t sure where she was or if everyone was already asleep for the night. Instead, he came out here to mull over his thoughts in the silence. Coming out of a near-death experience, he was doing fairly well for himself. He half-expected it to be much harder than this, but no one questioned the night that Dante died or voiced their unhappiness over the lack of an alive capture. No one asked him about the liquid silver, though Zach was certain they’d find it in an autopsy. No one seemed to care, and for that, Zach found he slept better on most nights.
He glanced over at the side on the wooden planks beside him. He placed a small set of rocks there. Grabbing one of them, Zach enclosed his fist around the rock and shut his eyes. The mineral changed under his fingers, and he opened his eyes as his arm threw the newly made sapphire far out into the lake. One day he would make a treasure bed out of this place. Zach was certain of it.

[31 Dec 2009|11:24pm] |
Who: Kelchek, Daiyu and Jia When: Afternoon Where: The Art Supply Shop What: Getting some basic art supplies.
Kelchek was in a fairly decent mood. He needed to get away from everything and reconnect with the earth, but first he had to make a stop. The art supply shop wasn't too hard to find. He had made all of the arrangements for the picture frame, but needed paint to add the final touch, and while he was at it he might as well get some other things that hes been meaning to get. It wasn't a very long list; only the paints, some brushes, and if they had it a sketchbook and pencils. It was only going to be a quick visit, just get the things and leave, but he had a feeling that he was going to be there for a while.
He wasn't a very good artist, he just expressed himself on paper when he felt like it. He was an okay painter on the lines that he could paint on things and make them look good, but give him a canvas and hes lost. That's one of the reasons he ordered the picture frame so much bigger than the actual photo, he was going to paint a background and not care what anyone thought about it. He entered the art shop and began to look around. He knew that he would need silver, gray, and red; but the red would have to be a deep shade. "Hmmm." He hadn't noticed anyone else in the shop, but he would have definitely liked if someone could help him. He turned his gaze away from the multiple colors of paints and looked around for a clerk.

[31 Dec 2009|02:13pm] |
Who:Katy and Lennon When: Mid-afternoon Where: The combat gym What: Katy is feeling the effects of being a werewolf for the first time since Dante's death. She's not a happy camper.
Katy clutched the plate. She had had already broken two from the same set within the same hour. She really should just change to paper plates during the time around the full moon. She gingerly set the china down leaving the dirty dishes she hadn't finished cleaning and moved out of the kitchen. She was antsy and incredibly anxious. It was always like this right before she turned. She had learned to remain calm through the years of it, but she felt so hot in her house. It was bothersome.
Being inside her house made it hard to control herself, so she walked outside into the day without putting anything over her t-shirt and felt the sun and slightly chilled air on her skin. She took a deep breath to calm herself. She needed to find her center, a safe place within, but that had been compromised when Dante had let himself into her world. Exactly how much did Katy have control of? What if it was the wolf who really had control over her?
She shook her head violently and leaned against the support beam of her porch. She had worked too hard for so many years to have it all come crashing down around her ears because of him. She knew he was dead, but even in death he seemed to be gloating over his power over her.
She needed to let off some steam. Anything to change her current mindset. She shut her house door and made sure it was locked before slipping the key in her pocket and took off in a full run to the combat gym with people staring in surprise as she rushed past them.

Who: Sascha and Jake When: Late evening, just after sunset Where: Northern mountain range, near the Arts and Trade Enclave What: An evening hike and a rescue mission gone awry- here comes Jake to save the day!
Sharp, cold. Each shallow intake of breath felt like a net of white hot needles stinging, pulsing, throbbing across his lungs. The searing pain in his lower right leg had subsided a bit, although he wasn't sure if the cold had numbed him to the feeling or he'd just become accustomed to the pain.
Sascha had no way of knowing how severe his injuries were overall; his leg was obviously broken, but the crude splint he'd fashioned out of his belt and a few fallen branches had worked well. Most of his clothes had been thoroughly soaked, and the snow and sub-freezing temperatures over the past several days had only compounded his problem: he was cold, probably suffering from an advanced stage of hypothermia, injured to the point of near-immobilization...and the full moon was ready to rise.
After his fall, he'd summoned enough strength to pull himself free of the river and into a narrow cave a few yards from the bank. It had provided a minimal degree of cover from the elements, but that was enough; between the food rations and other meager supplies he'd brought along during the search party efforts, and his own resourcefulness, he'd managed to survive four nights alone in the wilderness. It was a considerable achievement...but his time was running out. ( he was almost to the point of not caring anymore.

[30 Dec 2009|06:57pm] |
Who: Lysander harsi Herrenlaia and Midori Kamiyama When: Mid morning Where: Wandering through Helicharis town cottages What: He needs to find someone in charge to talk to. Now.
'Feeling better' at this point was an extremely relative term, but he was moving and thinking with more ease than he had been several hours earlier. His body felt like his body now and not just some shell he was puppetting by some foreign magic. He'd tried to shake as much of it from his limbs as he could be running in break-neck spurts, start-stops that reinserted his consciousness into the physical control of himself.
Lysander's mind hadn't been as easy to sort out as his body had been, mainly because he didn't know if anything but time would do the trick. He still felt tremulous somewhere in his core where the angry-hot hatred of the Men Who Were Coming met his own terrified sensibilities regarding the events on the separate islands; what was worse was that both feelings felt equally justified despite knowing that only one of them was originated from himself.
He felt scorched inside, rubbed raw with salt and left to tan.
None of that did anything to deter him from what his present goal was and that was to find Theora or, barring that, anyone of any importance that could do something or prepare something or something. The easiest place to start was in the town proper and move out from there, Lysander had thought.
Cold sweat covered his brow and made his hair stick out at preposterous angles, the edges of his tattoo visible at the very top of his forehead. He didn't walk as if he was ill or frail, but as if he'd worked himself very hard and this was the cool down. Movement for the sake of future movement.

Who: Mavis and James When: Afternoon Where The beach What: Now that the weather is warmer, Mavis visits her favorite area.
The smell of the sea brought some sort of calamity to Mavis. It felt like she had been away from the beach for so long. Now that the weather was looking up, there she was, face to face with the tides. She walked until her feet were planted in the wet sand and the slightly frigid water rolled over her bare feet. Though the water was cold, the moment felt good. Soon the weather would be much better and she'd be one of the first to dive into the ocean. This made her close her eyes and smile with a soft hum in the back of her throat. She could feel her hair blowing in the wind, a few strands falling to her lids. But she paid no attention.
The siren finally looked away from the ocean and towards the blanket she had set out on the sand. There she had her shoes and a few books to read. Once she actually got to the blanket, she felt a bit tired and began to close her eyes.
The sound of the sea began to lull her into a soft sleep. Today seemed like a perfect day.

[29 Dec 2009|11:44am] |
Who: Nico and Chloe When: Night Where: Nico & Zach's place What: Watching movies, and chillin'?
Nico threw back the bottle, and finished off the last of his beer. It was his second for the night, and he was far from being done. He reached for another one in the cooler by his side, and opened the lid with a bottle opener (Elysium hadn't heard of twist off tops, apparently), and kicked his feet up on the table in front of him. He took a swig, and let out a content sigh.
Scenes flickered across the screen of the TV - Beverly Hills Cop - and Nico laughed when Eddie Murphy stuffed a banana up the muffler of a car to make it backfire. He reached for the popcorn that lay on the couch, and stuffed some into his mouth. Fluffy, white crumbs fell on his shirt, and he brushed them away until they dropped to the floor. He could clean up later after he was done hanging with his friend.
"Now this is nice," he said in between his laughter. He took another swig of his beer, and then let his head drop to the back of the couch. He rolled it lazily to the side to face his guest. "Isn't this nice? C'mon..." He elongated the word for added effect, and bounced his eyebrows at the pretty blond. "Admit it. You're having a good time."

Who: Theora and Adam When: Evening Where: Theora's awesome tree house What: TBD
The sun had just set below the horizon, and the last shades of yellow and orange were disappearing from the sky. Theora stood upon the balcony of her home, elbows rested on the sturdy railing while she leaned forward. There was a slight breeze blowing, and pieces of her hair were billowing across her face. She took a deep breath, and pushed herself away from the railing to return inside. There was a small fire in the fireplace, one that was more for decoration than actual warmth, and a book laid out on table.
The priestess settled down on her couch, and wrapped a blanket around her lithe frame. Her mind was normally clear, and calm, but tonight it ran rampant with thoughts of the upcoming ceremony to name the new Head Priestess of her people. Dread, and fear were the only words that came to mind when she tried to name her feelings. It was not often for her to feel such emotions at all, but there they were, and she could not hide from them. Theora supposed it was only because she had been a priestess her entire life, and without that position she almost felt lost. She was happy for her successor, but a part of her was also sad to have to move on.
She sighed, and brought a mug of hot tea to her lips. Theora had to look at this in a positive light, she just had to or else she would not be able to live. This was an opportunity to experience the different aspects of life that she had not been able to in the past, and that itself was an exciting prospect. It was enough of a positive to make the priestess smile even as the unexpected knock fell upon her door.
